Artist
Statement:
The art of dance is my passion, and it is a way through which I can express myself. Through dance, I can be creative. It allows me to meet wonderful people who share my passion, and that is so important in any field. I love to perform, to work with people, and to share ideas and thoughts with fellow artists. I love the community in which the field of dance is immersed in. It is a wonderful community where artists can share their love and passion for dance with each other. I love to move, and dance makes me feel good. It is a large part of what makes me the person that I am. I strongly believe in working collaboratively in dance, and I work best when working with fellow artists. I am dedicated, passionate, and I always dance and perform with conviction. Performing gives me a feeling that nothing else can, and it inspires me to continue to work hard. I hope to someday inspire others through my dancing.

Teaching Statement:
Teaching is a way to open doors to endless possibilities. It is a way to allow students to learn and grow not only as dancers, but also as people. I believe that the best way that students can learn is through facilitation. I believe in making students think for themselves, and making them ask questions. Critical thinking is an essential element to learning, especially in dance. It allows students to think deeper about what they are doing with their bodies, their focus, their performance and the quality of the movement. Imagery is also very important. It gives students another way of thinking about their bodies and their technique. Imagery helps with memory and information retention. It also helps with creativity, spatial pathways, and performance. It is an essential part of my teaching method. As a teacher, I am kind and understanding, but I am still able to take control of a classroom. I hope that my students gain knowledge about their bodies, correct alignment and proper technique. I want my students to be able to learn proper ways to move, and to get rid of any bad habits. I hope that my students also have the desire to continue to ask questions about their own bodies and their own style of dancing so that they can continue to grow and learn as dancers and as people.
